Job Title: Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (GP Surgery Placement)
Location: Smethwick West Midlands
Contract Type: Fixed-term (6 months)
Start Date: 16th June 2025
Working Pattern: Part-time (20 hours per week)
Days Required: Mondays Wednesdays Fridays
Hourly Rate: 3840 per hour (DOE)
Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber (PIP) to join our GP surgery team in Smethwick on a 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced pharmacist to contribute to patient care in a well-supported primary care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct medication reviews for patients with acute and long-term conditions
Provide v300 prescribing in accordance with clinical need and scope of practice
Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to support safe and effective prescribing
Maintain accurate patient records in line with local policy and GMC/GPhC guidance
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives where appropriate
Requirements:
GPhC-registered Pharmacist Independent Prescriber
Recent experience in a primary care or GP surgery setting preferred
Competence in medication review and autonomous prescribing (v300)
Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
Familiarity with EMIS Web (desirable but not essential)
