Our client a highly-regarded title and escrow firm is seeking a proactive highly detailed and client-focused Escrow Officer to fully own the end-to-end closing process for a variety of real estate transactions. You will be the central fiduciary and coordinator for every file responsible for managing all funds documents and communication to ensure a compliant accurate and timely settlement experience for all parties involved.
You will be expected to demonstrate a thorough understanding of state-specific escrow and settlement requirements adhering strictly to financial regulations and high consumer protection standards.
Key Responsibilities
File Management: Manage the full escrow file lifecycle from opening through final disbursement.
Title Clearance: Review title reports/commitments; coordinate with examiners to clear all title defects and satisfy conditions.
Financial Balancing: Review lender instructions; calculate fees and prorations; prepare and balance the CD/HUD-1 in strict compliance with TRID and lender rules.
Closing Execution: Conduct closing appointments; ensure precise execution of all escrow and closing instructions and accurate fund disbursement.
Fiduciary Compliance: Maintain strict fiduciary responsibility for all escrow trust funds; ensure adherence to federal state and local regulations.
Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients agents lenders and attorneys providing clear and timely updates.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3 years of direct experience as an Escrow Officer Closer or Settlement Agent managing a high-volume desk.
Licensing: Must possess a current active and relevant state license (e.g. State-Specific Escrow Officer License or TIPIC).
Expertise: Deep expertise in closing procedures legal documents (deeds mortgages) and settlement statement preparation.
Notary: Must be a Notary Public in the required state or willing to obtain one immediately.
Software: Proficiency with industry-leading escrow/closing software (e.g. SoftPro RamQuest Qualia or ResWare).
Skills: Exceptional organizational skills meticulous detail-orientation and proven ability to manage complex high-liability transactions.
Preferred Qualification
- Book of Business: Candidates bringing a small existing book of business will have a negotiable salary and compensation structure (not required).
