AI Platform Product Owner

The Role:

We are seeking a Product Owner to join our AI platform team. As one of the first Product Owners at OPENCHIP you will play a key role in shaping how we build and deliver software in a fast-moving scale-up environment. You will be embedded within the engineering organization aligned with the product organization and act as the glue between our Product Manager and development teams ensuring that customer needs technical realities and business goals are always aligned.

Our AI platform is designed to be the foundation for fine-tuning and deploying cutting-edge AI systems at scale with a strong focus on multi-agent architectures. It will leverage the full power of our custom AI hardware and must be open future-proof and able to support a wide variety of AI workloads across datacenters on-prem infrastructure and edge environments.

As Product Owner your mission is to translate vision into execution: you will manage the backlog collaborate with engineers daily and ensure that our delivery process is focused agile and value-driven.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the product backlog for our AI platform ensuring clarity structure and priority based on strategic goals stakeholder input and user needs.
• Translate product vision and user requirements into actionable user stories and technical tasks with well-defined acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams during sprint planning stand-ups and retrospectives to ensure smooth execution and fast feedback loops.
• Represent the voice of the customer and internal stakeholders synthesizing insights from customer conversations product management and design teams.
• Define and uphold the Definition of Done ensuring delivered features meet expected quality and business value before release.
• Continuously refine and re-prioritize the backlog in response to changing requirements technical discovery and team feedback.
• Contribute to the broader platform roadmap in partnership with the Product Manager providing tactical input grounded in real-time engineering constraints and opportunities.
• Support alignment across cross-functional teams (QA design development infra) to ensure a coordinated development approach.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science IT Engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven experience as a Product Owner Technical Product Manager or Technical Product lead in an AI software development environment. Experience in datacenter infrastructure or platform engineering is a strong plus.
• Excellent understanding of Agile development practices including sprint planning backlog grooming and story writing.
• Strong technical acumen able to have meaningful discussions with engineers and translate complex ideas into clear actionable work.
• A structured hands-on and detail-oriented mindset. Able to operate with high autonomy in a startup environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a talent for bridging product thinking and technical execution.
• A proactive builder mentality with a desire to improve how we work and ship great software.
• Familiarity with tooling such as Jira Confluence Miro and GitLab. Experience with design tooling like Figma is a plus.
