Job Summary: The CT Technologist performs high-quality computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. This role requires a strong technical background in CT X-ray and bone density imaging along with excellent patient care skills. The technologist ensures safety consistency and efficiency within the radiology department while collaborating with radiologists and other clinical staff. This is a full-time 40-hour/week role scheduled Monday Friday 10 AM 6 PM (training shift: 8 AM 4 PM).

Responsibilities

Perform CT scans following established protocols to ensure accurate uniform imaging results.
Conduct X-ray and bone density imaging procedures as needed.
Assess patient needs prior to during and after imaging ensuring safety and comfort.
Position patients correctly and operate CT/X-ray equipment safely and efficiently.
Review and evaluate images for diagnostic quality before sending to PACS.
Maintain accurate patient and imaging records in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
Follow all radiation safety guidelines including ALARA principles shielding and dose optimization.
Prepare imaging rooms equipment and supplies for daily operations.
Communicate clearly with patients radiologists and healthcare providers.
Report equipment malfunctions and assist with routine quality assurance checks.

Requirements

CT Certification (ARRT CT) REQUIRED (No exceptions)
At least 1 year of CT experience Required
Experience performing X-ray and bone density imaging
Strong clinical judgment in assessing patient needs during imaging procedures
Excellent communication and patient-care skills

Education: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Program Required

Certifications

ARRT Certification in Radiography Required
ARRT Certification in CT Required
BLS Certification Required

License: New York State Radiologic Technologist License (L.R.T) Required
