Job Summary

As a Electrician you will inspect repair and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment in assigned facilities. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems.

Potential to convert to FTE If so what rate: Yes $75000

Overview of Work Environment/Client Nuances: Mostly office building work but occasional warehouse

Team Overview: Mostly independent work

Resources typical working day:

  • PMs
  • Misc work orders
  • Small/minor electrical projects
  • Generators
  • Checking connections and switch gears

Licenses/Certifications: Journeyman certification required

Must Have Skills: Some experience in an office environment

Nice to have skills:

  • Work order system experience
  • Any additional maintenance skills are a plus

Years of Experience: Someone with a new journeymans license is acceptable

Education: h.s. diploma or GED and journeymans certification

Software skills: Microsoft office suite

Interview Process:

  • 1st round phone screen
  • 2nd round in-person with a tour

What Youll Do:

  • Oversee electrical and lighting systems general operation repair and maintenance. Perform new installations of equipment.
  • Check repair and replace functional components of electrical and lighting systems. This includes valves motors controls switches gauges wiring fans pumps compressors condensers cores and pipes.
  • Assure that equipment is being maintained and operating in a safe manner.
  • Review historical maintenance records to create proactive inspection testing and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Provide efficient and reliable service to customers.
  • Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
  • Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. May convince to reach an agreement.
  • Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
  • Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.

What Youll Need:

  • High School Diploma GED or trade school diploma with 3-4 years of job-related experience. Completion of a formal apprenticeship program preferred. Master Electrician license required as dictated by local electrical codes. Valid Drivers license required.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping standing walking climbing stairs/ladders and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word Excel Outlook etc.
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
  • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills: add subtract multiply divide. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages discounts and commissions.
