Job Summary:
The X-Ray Tech will perform musculoskeletal radiography on pediatric patients including bone age and scoliosis studies. Responsibilities include rooming patients obtaining height and weight measurements and performing radiographic procedures on upper and lower extremities spine and pelvis. The tech will also be responsible for radiation safety and using EPIC for documentation.

Responsibilities:
- Perform musculoskeletal radiography including bone age and scoliosis studies.
- Room patients and obtain height and weight measurements.
- Perform radiographic procedures on upper and lower extremities spine and pelvis.
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed.
- Document patient information and procedures in EPIC.
- Assist with patient care and preparation for examinations.
- Transport patients as needed.
- Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
- Coordinate equipment and supply needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Tech.
- Clinic experience.
- Pediatric outpatient experience.
- Proficiency in radiography of angle calcaneus femur foot knee patella tibia-fibula toes and trauma of the lower extremity.
- Proficiency in radiography of clavicle elbow forearm hand humerus scapula shoulder thumb or finger trauma shoulder or humerus (Scapular Y Transthoracic Axial) trauma upper extremity (non shoulder) and wrist.
- Knowledge of radiation safety.
- Proficiency in radiography of hip lumbar spine pelvis and thoracic spine.
- Ability to room patients.
- Experience working with children and teens.
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R).
- BLS certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- None specified.
Special Considerations:
- No RTO after booking is allowed.
- Call offs or additional RTO on the unit may result in cancellation.
- Must be available for the entire first week for orientation and potential shadow shifts.
Scheduling:
- 40 hours per week.
- 8-hour days 08:00 - 12:00 lunch between 12:00 - 13:00 then 13:00 - 17:00.
- No call requirement.
- On Wednesdays the tech will float to Novant Health Matthews Childrens Clinic (approximately 25 minutes/11.3 miles away) to room patients.
- No weekend requirement.
- Scheduling is per the clinics needs.
