JOB TITLE: Components Engineer - Partially Remote (Defense)
LOCATION: Westford MA
PAY RATE: $85/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

• Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

• Clearance: Active Secret clearance preferred; inactive considered. Interim clearance required to start.

• Hybrid: Telework less than 50% with a schedule of 3 days onsite and up to 1 day remote per week.

Summary:

• Research component termination styles encapsulation methods and construction processes.

• Create Vendor Identification Source Control and Altered Item Drawings.

• Lead component standardization and part selection efforts.

• Process change notices and maintain engineering BOMs in PTC Windchill per LM processes.

• Develop component qualification test plans and coordinate testing with external test houses.

• Create component screening plans per Parts Management Process requirements.

• Interface with customers to present part changes and assess hardware impact.

• Lead component failure investigations.

• Support qualification of alternate test houses for part finish mitigations and qualification.

• Evaluate impacts of PCNs and obsolescence on programs.

• Mentor junior engineers.

• Review and approve parts in Siemens Expedition Library per PMP guidelines.

Requirements:

• Active Secret clearance preferred; inactive considered. Interim clearance required to start.

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

• Experience in Component Engineering.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• 6 years with PTC Windchill for BOM maintenance.

• 6 years with Siemens Expedition Cockpit.

• 6 years in RF component selection.

• 6 years in part qualification and failure analysis.

• Demonstrated knowledge of military and automotive electronics standards.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
