Job Summary
Introduction
Our client a leading food distributor based in Alberton is looking for an Operations Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the branch warehouse and distribution function.
- Maintain Food Safety standards and Audits.
- Manage maintenance of distribution fleet.
- Ensure a smooth process of daily delivery requirements of customer orders.
- Manage stock control and inventory function.
- Enforce safety and housekeeping programme on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure safe working practices in line with OHS Policy (16.2).
- Must be able to work night shift when required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric
- A Tertiary qualification in Operations Management or Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
- 3 years experience as an Operations Manager within an operations logistics distribution environment within FMCG.
- Technical knowledge of the day-to-day running of a refrigeration plant/cold storage and the handling of food.
- 3 years experience in people management.
