About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- 24/7 hour shift work and sleepover availability
- Support personal care including bathing shaving and toileting
- Provide mobility assistance - lifting transferring and hoisting clients
- Follow person-centred active support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
- Help clients reach their goals through meaningful activities of their choice
- Track and document the changing needs of clients thorough record-keeping
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients their families and your team
- Advocate for client choice and control in a way that is safe and compliant
Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting clients with behaviours and complex needs
- An unrestricted New South Wales drivers licence and ability to drive a large van
- Committed to work flexible work hours across the week including public holidays
- Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
- A current First Aid Certificate which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
