Job Summary
Job Title: Buyer
Division: Raw Materials & Energy Purchasing
Location: Radnor PA
Arkema Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to support the purchasing of distribution and packaging raw materials. This role is critical to ensuring timely procurement accurate order processing and effective supplier communication. The Buyer will manage purchase orders resolve delivery issues and assist Strategic Sourcing Managers with projects that drive efficiency and cost optimization.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchase Order Management
- Process purchase requisitions in alignment with defined strategies and company policies.
- Review requisitions for accuracy and completeness; resolve discrepancies.
- Reconcile invoices and update delivery dates as needed.
Issue Resolution
- Communicate and resolve conflicts in delivery schedules between planners and suppliers.
- Log and monitor supplier complaints to ensure timely resolution and prevent recurrence.
Support Strategic Sourcing Managers
- Assist with strategy implementation S&OP meetings and inventory management.
- Provide forecasts to suppliers and support risk management projects.
- Learn bid evaluation and award processes; maintain accurate data and reports.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education:Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain or related field preferred.
Experience:Minimum 2 years in Procurement/Sourcing/Supply Chain (or 5 years for non-degreed individuals).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP MS Office (Excel PowerPoint) and query tools.
- Strong communication organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Negotiation skills preferred.
