Adjunct Faculty, School of Theology & Ministry

Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend and lead all required class sessions
• Promptly assess student coursework and submit via Brightspace (the universitys learning management system)
• Coordinate with Division Chair and/or Academic Dean regarding classroom or student issues in a timely manner

Qualifications:According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

• Masters or doctoral degree in a field relevant to the subject(s) to be taught

Experience

• Relevant ministry and teaching experience is highly valued

Required Skills

• Teaching: Adjunct faculty should demonstrate excellence in pedagogy classroom management designing assignments and classroom activities explaining complex ideas in a way students can understand and integrating Christian faith with the course material
• Adjuncts are also expected to grade assignments and post grades within a reasonable time frame
• Technology: Adjunct faculty are required to utilize the learning management system (Brightspace) and any in-classroom technology necessary for excellent instruction
• Ministerial: Adjunct faculty should demonstrate the ability to integrate their faith with their teaching and to connect with students relationally providing genuine care for the student as a person while also maintaining appropriate boundaries
