We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Managerto lead the development team within our XC WAAP (Web Application and API Protection) this role you will manage a team of 4-6 talented Software Engineers providing technical direction and mentoring to achieve successful end-to-end (E2E) feature delivery and support. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams architects and stakeholders to design develop and deliver solutions for F5s cutting-edge XC WAAP product. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong and hands-on leader who thrives on innovation and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a team of Software Engineers fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Provide technical guidance including architectural design code reviews and best practices to ensure high-quality output.

Technical Delivery

  • Drive innovation and deliver high-quality solutions for XC WAAP products on schedule in a monthly release cycle.
  • Define high-level architecture and detailed designs based on product management requirements and customer needs.
  • Act as a hands-on leader by contributing to coding design and team development when necessary.

Customer-Centric Focus

  • Support customer cases and drive resolutions by partnering with internal teams like support sales and product.
  • Ensure product updates and designs resonate with customer needs and maintain high satisfaction levels.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with architects product managers and other engineering leaders to fulfill feature requirements address technical challenges and drive business outcomes.
  • Lead effective integration efforts across cross-functional global teams and adapt to working flexible hours for international collaboration.

Building for Innovation

  • Encourage your team to adopt a learner mindset take risks and innovate to solve ambiguous and complex problems.
  • Be a key driver in fostering a culture of curiosity adaptability and ownership.

Desired Skills & Experience

Technical Leadership

  • Proven technical leadership experience in software development or engineering services.
  • Hands-on experience in architecting coding and driving technical decisions particularly in backend distributed technologies like REST microservices Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Expertise in Golang C or Cis required. Experience with modern software architectures and secure coding practices is a plus.

Agility & Collaboration

  • Deep experience working in an Agile environment with short release cycles.
  • Proficient in communication across local and global teams with an ability to simplify complex technical ideas for non-technical stakeholders.

Customer Support & Ownership

  • Experience supporting customer cases resolving challenges and ensuring successful product adoption.

Effective Management

  • Skilled at managing and scaling high-performance teams creating alignment among stakeholders and guiding team members career growth.
  • Strong ability to balance immediate problem-solving with long-term strategic thinking.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8 years of software development experience including hands-on coding and architecture.
  • Strong critical reasoning problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on pragmatism and customer impact.
