We are looking for a dynamic Country Government Relations Manager to strengthen relationships with local government in Germany.
This role suits a public affairs professional eager to craft integrated strategies that make a real impact on the energy transition. Youll plan advocate and deliver support of our objectives and ensure our interests are represented to government the public and internal audiences.
You will report to the Head of Communications & Government Relations for Germany and work closely with the DACH the European and Global Communications and Government Relations teams to ensure consistent compelling messaging across all channels.
How youll make an impact
- Develop and execute integrated communication strategies to strengthen the organizations internal and external image in alignment with regional and local business priorities.
- Manage external agencies and vendors to ensure delivery.
- Oversee local brand positioning and content including social media presence.
- Monitor and analyze public policy and legislative changes preparing reports and insights for senior management to guide decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Country Managing Director (CMD) on advocacy strategies and maintain relationships with government officials industry associations and key stakeholders.
- Represent the organization at external events press conferences and facilitate visits from government officials and industry partners.
- Support major events and initiatives such as industry conferences tradeshows and internal employee meetings ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Measure and evaluate Government Relations activities using KPIs ensuring compliance with laws regulations and company policies while upholding core values of safety and integrity.
Your background
- Masters degree in Political Science Communications International Relations or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in government relations public affairs policy analysis or legislative roles.
- Prior work in government agencies legislative offices trade associations or advocacy groups is highly valued.
- Experience in building relationships with policymakers and regulatory bodies and managing advocacy campaigns.
- Deep understanding of legislative and regulatory processes at local national and sometimes international levels.
- Policy analysis and strategic thinking to assess the impact of laws and regulations on the organization.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for lobbying and advocacy.
- Relationship-building with government officials industry associations and coalitions.
