Job Summary

Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Location: New York NY 10032
Contract Duration: 10 Weeks

Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and perform a variety of direct patient care tasks and supportive non-clinical duties. This role supports patient comfort safety and daily living needs in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Essential Job Duties

Assist patients with personal hygiene and grooming
Maintain confidentiality of patient information
Assist with feeding as needed
Transport patients to and from various hospital departments
Deliver and pick up lab specimens
Assist patients in and out of bed
Replenish and maintain patient supplies
Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients
Perform assigned cleaning duties
Handle bedpans urinals and properly label specimens
Make patient beds and maintain room order
Respond to call lights and relay messages promptly
Clean and maintain patient care equipment
Provide post-mortem care and transport bodies to morgue when required
Prepare patients for procedures or operations
Collect soiled linen and deposit it in designated laundry areas
Measure and record vital signs height weight intake/output and other observations
Perform back rubs when indicated
Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Work Experience & Skills

Previous nurse aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an accredited training program
Completion of a Nurse Aide Training Program or enrollment in a BSN program (junior year or having completed at least one clinical practicum)
Ability to demonstrate basic math competency
Physical ability to perform assigned job tasks
Good personal hygiene and professionalism
Ability to work effectively with staff patients and visitors
Ability to receive direction from and report to Registered Nurses
Knowledge of Infection Control principles
Understanding of patient safety especially regarding confused or high-risk patients
