Salary: Range 61: $ 71472 - $ 93804 per year (DOQ).

WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION


AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to interview and currently reside outside of Washington State seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager of this recruitment.


This position requires you to be in the office at least three (3) days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities


Some of the duties you will perform are:

  • Reconciles the monthly general ledger encumbrances and warrant reports; prepares and corrects accounting entries to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Reviews and processes procurement requests in compliance with judicial branch policies and procedures.
  • Manages daily cash deposits ensuring accurate allocation of funds and reconciliation with the State Treasurers Office.
  • Oversees payroll processing for the judicial branch including leave tracking payroll scheduling and compliance with regulations.
  • Prepares year-end financial adjustments and journal vouchers; contributes to the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
  • Analyzes and improves financial accounting and payroll systems; prepares reports in accordance with GAAP.
  • Reviews and approves accounts payable/receivable and cash receipt batches; resolves discrepancies in financial systems.
  • Provides budget input and may review the work of Financial Services Specialists and Analysts.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications and Credentials


A combination of relevant education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the Senior Financial Services Analyst may be considered in meeting the qualifications.

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or closely allied field INCLUDING20 Semester or 30 quarter hours of college level accounting

OR

  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible professional accounting experienceAND 20 Semester or 30 quarter hours of college level accounting.


THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities with knowledge of HR practices organizational management and team development.
  • Skilled in managing projects budgets and resources to meet strategic goals and operational objectives.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risks and develop effective action plans.
  • Clear and professional communicator both in writing and presentations with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools (Teams Outlook Word PowerPoint etc.) and adaptable to new technologies and systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting payroll procurement and debt collection principles especially within Washington State government and judicial systems.
  • Experienced in financial reporting auditing and using accounting systems to resolve complex business problems.
  • Highly organized multitasker with strong time management decision-making and the ability to work collaboratively across agencies.

  • Overnight travel may be required based on business needs.
