Country Tax and Treasury Manager

POSITION PURPOSE

Ø To perform all tax-related matters for the company and ensure full tax compliance while effectively supporting business operations.

Ø As a senior member of the local finance team the incumbent will be required to interact on strategic matters and direction making to ensure alignment is reached with RTD/Treasury/GM/CFO.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To ensure full compliance with statutory tax legislation. That is ensuring that tax returns and tax payments are correctly prepared and submitted to the Tanzania Revenue Authority Taxpayer Portal on time such as WHT VAT CIT Excise tax etc. to avoid penalties and other non-compliance risk exposures. This involves observing statutory tax deadlines and proper interpretation of the provisions of the laws

2. To monitor month end closing schedules and clearance for all tax accounts and in all ledgers (IFRS Statutory and tax). Review of taxes and completion of GL tax accounts and tax stamps reconciliations on time communicate and suggest rectification measures of any anormally discovered to responsible staff for rectification of the anormally

3. To conduct a comprehensive review of changes in tax laws and practices relevant to JTI Tanzania establish and maintain positive relationships with TRA ZRA Municipal officials and other external business stakeholders and facilitate the dissemination of tax knowledge to other sections within the organization to enhance overall tax compliance and operational effectiveness.

4. Assisting Tax and Treasury manager in handling internal and external tax audits for both TCC PLC and JTI Leaf Tanzania with a coverage not limited to Transfer Pricing and other comprehensive tax audits

5. Perform quarterly tax computations accurately in compliance with applicable regulations and within required deadlines

Requirements

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Education

Ø University Bachelors Degree in Finance Accounting or Business Administration with relevant Tax and Accounting qualifications

Work Experience:

Ø 2 to4 years of experience in taxation

Functional Skills:

Ø Effective communication skill in English and Swahili

Ø Sound knowledge in tax laws and regulations.

Ø Excellent user of MS Office (Words Power Point and Excel) SAP skills.

Ø Business knowledge in FMCG industry is an added advantage.

Fluent in English and local language(s): verbal and written
