RecruitNet International Ltd is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for a Nursing Home in Co Limerick Ireland.
Responsibilities
Ensure all home policies and clinical standards are fully understood implemented and consistently practiced including oversight of ward rounds and ongoing clinical issues.
Review and audit nursing documentation to confirm accurate assessments timely care planning and appropriate management of residents at higher clinical risk.
Oversee safe medication management in line with NMBI/An Bord Altranais guidelines ensure staff competency support GP/pharmacy liaison and complete regular MAMS medication audits.
Provide strong clinical leadership by supporting CNMs maintaining a visible presence on the floor monitoring care practices and offering constructive feedback to staff.
Conduct regular performance appraisals for CNMs nurses and carers; coordinate training induction and in-house education based on identified learning needs.
Produce and manage staff rosters in collaboration with the DON monitor staffing levels and minimise reliance on agency personnel.
Lead and participate in clinical environmental hygiene health & safety medication and EpicCare documentation audits ensuring action plans are implemented and maintained.
Promote person-centred care by engaging daily with residents and families addressing concerns promptly supporting MDT communication and escalating unresolved issues appropriately.
Support the DON in the overall management of the home assume responsibility in their absence and maintain clear open communication with all staff and senior management.
Oversee day-to-day clinical operations through active supervision participation in handovers staff support monitoring drug rounds and reinforcing safe practices teamwork and high-quality care.
Requirements
First-level nursing registration
Registered on the appropriate division of the Irish NMBI live register
Demonstrated commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
Previous management or supervisory experience
