The role
As a Teacher of the Deaf you will design deliver and evaluate individualised programmes of study for deaf service users within our D/Deaf Community. You will use your expertise to adapt teaching strategies develop effective curricula and foster a stimulating learning environment where every learner can thrive.
You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and wider therapy team to ensure education is an established provision within the service. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference as part of a collaborative supportive and specialist service.
Key Responsibilities
You will plan and deliver engaging sessions in Literacy Numeracy and IT tailoring learning to individual communication needs. The role involves developing curriculum resources monitoring progress and creating a positive learning environment. Youll assess and track learner achievement prepare individual learning plans and liaise with external agencies. Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team youll support audiological needs and contribute to care planning. Ongoing professional development including bilingual communication skills (BSL and spoken English) is encouraged alongside promoting deaf culture and safeguarding standards.
