We are looking for two Assistant Underwriters on a six-month basis for our Broker Distribution team to contribute to solutions that will deliver customer growth strategies and retention whilst supporting our customers needs & providing an exceptional customer experience.

You will be accountable for reviewing quoting and winning new SME commercial business opportunities supporting an uplift in New Business risk account GWP and improved partner NPS.

You can be based in Auckland or Christchurch.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Profitable Growth: Make informed underwriting decisions to achieve profitable growth.
Customer Focus: Drive value for commercial customers and business partners ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
Ensure good customer outcomes are met.
Build strong meaningful intermediary relationships.
Digital Focus: Manage digital partner referrals analyse trends and drive system improvements to maximize business value.

What you will need to succeed:

3 years industry experience in a commercial underwriting role
Strong understanding of the NZ commercial sector
Exemplary customer focus
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict
Innovation skills consultation influencing and negotiation capability
