PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teachers License with appropriate endorsement in area to which assigned
- Possess knowledge of medical aspects of disabilities and their implications for instruction
- Possess knowledge of resources and techniques needed to integrate special education students into the least restrictive environment
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials
- Possess ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction
- Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning
- Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes collaboration and managing coursework
- Create and maintain an inclusive supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students
- Communicate effectively with strong written verbal presentation and interpersonal skills
- Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families
- Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment
- Demonstrate dependability punctuality and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold a masters degree in Education
FLSA: Exempt
SALARY: $26416.18 - $42806.82 annually; commensurate with experience
