AECOM is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician for various transportation projects.
Responsibilities and Tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Installation and Repair
- Performing work required to install maintain modify and repair traffic signal equipment and associated apparatus including: Traffic signals controllers (microprocessor-based) detectors and wiring
- Responding to emergency and/or damage situations (e.g. traffic accidents) to restore signals to normal operation
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance
- Diagnosing and correcting causes of failures in electronic electrical and mechanical systems
- Performing scheduled preventive maintenance
- Adjusting detectors timing controllers and making signal timing changes as directed
Field Operations:
- Working from technical sketches blueprints and schematics to perform repairs and installations
Qualifications :
Minimum requirements
- HS or equivalent 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Coursework/training in electronics or electrical engineering
- Experience in traffic signal installation operation and maintenance.
Preferred Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50-100 lbs).
