The Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization has an immediate need for a creative business intelligence engineer (BIE) with a
passion for building systems that have a measurable impact.
As an Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer you will be working in one of the worlds largest and most complex data warehouse environments. You should have deep expertise in the design creation management and business use of extremely large datasets. You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions. You should be expert at designing implementing and operating stable scalable low-cost solutions to flow data from production systems into the data warehouse and into end-user facing applications. You should be able to work with business customers in understanding the business requirements and implementing reporting solutions. Above all you should be passionate about bringing large datasets together to answer business questions and drive change.
Key job responsibilities
Work with the BIE and engineering team to design and develop scalable user-friendly systems data lakes reports and dashboards.
Write high quality SQL code to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (ex. Redshift MySQL Oracle) and learn and understand a broad range of Amazons data resources and know how when and which to use and which not to use.
Work closely with science and research peers to translate business questions into analytical solutions and provide insights and recommendations at scale.
Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects as well as ongoing reporting.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

- Bachelors degree in mathematics engineering statistics computer science or a related field
- 5 years of data engineering database engineering business intelligence or business analytics experience
- Experience with reporting and Data Visualization tools such as Quick Sight / Tableau / Power BI or other BI packages
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift Oracle NoSQL etc.
- Knowledge of data analysis languages (e.g. R Stata Python etc.) or other statistical software
- Experience with data modeling warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Masters degree or above in business engineering statistics computer science mathematics or related field
- Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis
- Experience with end-to-end project management
