Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist
Location: Centerville Iowa
What were looking for:
The EHS Specialist will partner with the site operations team to help drive safety as a core value. The EHS Specialist will work under the direction of the EHS Manager.
What youll be responsible for in this role:
- Provide direct support to the plant EHS Manager and plant staff: investigate recognize report and recommend corrective actions on safety and environmental compliance issues
- Communicate safety priorities regulatory updates and corrective actions clearly and consistently across the facility
- Coordinate with supervisors and shop floor personnel to engage in daily safety discussions
- Conduct daily Gemba walks
- Assist with incident investigations
- Learn read understand and communicate EHS regulatory requirements
- Develop and deliver clear effective EHS training to employees in alignment with OSHA requirements and company policies
- Audit and maintain systems to ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental programs of facility
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety and environmental compliance
- Support OSHA compliance inspections
- Perform other duties as assigned
What are the basic qualifications
- Associate degree or in lieu of education minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- At least 2 years of experience in an EHS role
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Training
- Knowledge of safety (OSHA NFPA & ANSI) and environmental (EPA) regulations
- Strong Communication and Presentation skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and Power Point
What are the preferred qualifications
- Previous EHS experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to contribute and participate in a team environment
- Ability to accomplish assigned tasks provide feedback construct plans and demonstrate confidence in team leader and member roles.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
To be a great fit for the role:
- Experience in Enablon or other EHS platforms
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulatory requirements
- Experience in coaching training networking and facilitation
