Behavior Specialist:
This role supports students with behavioral challenges by developing and implementing effective behavior management strategies. Under the direction of Educational Services or a designated Director the specialist collaborates with educators staff and families to design individualized support plans such as BSPs BIPs 504 Plans and IEPs. The role involves observing student behavior conducting assessments providing case management and offering consultation and training to staff and families. The specialist also supports district-wide behavior initiatives ensures compliance with applicable laws and policies and contributes to a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
-Masters Degree from an accredited university and/or college
-Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required
Credential and Licenses
-Valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Credential
-Teaching or Services credential i.e. School Psychologist Credential orSpecial Education Credential authorizing services in Mild Moderate or Moderate to Severe
-Valid California Drivers License
Experience:
Three (3) years of successful experience in special education specifically with students with behavioral and/or mental health needs.
Desirable experience:
- Extensive knowledgein drafting behavioral intervention strategies.
- Effectivecommunication skills withparents school district staff or community-based organizations.
- Experience in a school setting implementing Positive Behavior Supports.
