Job Summary

The Department of Urology at the University of Washington is seeking a reconstructive urologist join an established and high-volume trauma and reconstructive urological surgery program at UW Medicine and Harborview Medical Center. The position is a full-time 12-months per year academic position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level without tenure (WOT) due to funding. The anticipated start date for the position is July 1 2026. Assistant professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

Harborview Medical Center is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center servicing the greater 5-state areas of Washington Wyoming Alaska Montana and Idaho (WWAMI). The Section of Urology at Harborview Medical Center has an established and high-volume reconstructive urology practice a large clinical population from the WWAMI Region active research programs and an extremely strong academic urology faculty. Harborview is home to the WWAMI Institute for Simulation in Healthcare (WISH) and the Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center (HIPRC).

The base salary range for this position will be: $26334 per month to $35000 per month ($316008 - $420000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UWP practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through UW Physicians practice plan. Incentive is inclusive of variable incentive Monthly or Semi-Annual Additional Compensation (MAC/SAAC).

The University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service. Duties of the position include providing excellent clinical management of genitourinary trauma and reconstruction conditions and teaching residents fellows and students. The selected applicant will have the opportunity to propose a research program. Positive factors for consideration include but are not limited to research experience that aligns with our existing strengths in reconstructive urology gender affirmation care as well as the ability to gain privileges for minimally invasive (robotic-assisted) surgery at applicable UW Medicine sites of practice. The candidate must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) have completed an accredited residency in Urology (or foreign equivalent) and be a board-certified or board qualified urologist with subspecialty training in reconstructive urology (or foreign equivalent) as demonstrated by the completion of a GURS fellowship.

All candidates must be eligible for and able to maintain a Washington State medical license. The position will not be eligible for UW visa sponsorship.
