The manager nursing support services provides administrative oversight to multiple operational work units; plans analyzes and communicates departmental non-salary expenses; and represents the department in various projects and workgroups across the campus. Plans directs coordinates and evaluates the operational and personnel activities of the support services coordinators and the supervisors administrative assistants. Provides analysis of work processes and implements changes to improve outcomes and service. Participates in Department of Nursing annual planning by coordinating the non-salary expense components. Is accountable for supply minor equipment facility services and capital expenditure planning analysis forecasts and ongoing review recommending corrective measures as needed. Provides leadership based on the vision mission philosophy and core values of the Department of Nursing and Mayo Clinic Rochester. Applies current healthcare and business management theories in directing the support operations.
This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
Bachelors degree is required in business healthcare administration or nursing along with at least two years experience in supervision management or other related leadership position. Knowledge of hospital operations is required. Ability to apply the principles of fiscal management to work unit and Departmental operations. This includes the ability to work with a variety of data collect compare sort and organize information from several sources and communicate it to others in a meaningful manner. Strong analytical as well as interpersonal communication skills are necessary to carry out the leadership and consultative aspects of the role.
Proficiency with word processing spreadsheet and database software preferred. Successful management experience in an acute care setting.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience working in surgical services is preferred.
