Union Tank Car Company is seeking applicants to become a member of our production team at our full-service rail tank car repair shop in Marion Ohio. Union Tank Car Companys regulatory engineering and commercial expertise make UTLX the preferred source of railcars and services for many of its customers. Owned by the Marmon Group and Berkshire Hathaway UTLX headquarters is in Chicagos financial district close to major public transportation hubs. Primary Job Functions

This is not an exhaustive list and employees in these classifications frequently may be to perform additional duties. Not all classifications will be to perform all job functions.

Unloads incoming material from carriers vehicle.

Visually inspects parcels fordamage andnotifies Quality Control if any damage is noticed.

Verifies quantity of material received against shipping papers by counting or weighing or measuring andpostsdata to cardschartsand forms.

Operates forklifttruck pallettruck mobile handlingfixture and overheadcrane to move and store materials.

Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards.

Stocks/replenishes lineside material

Cycle counts/turns

Eligibility Requirements

Must have a high school diploma GED or pass a Combined Basic Skills Test

Forklift Training or willingness to be trained

Must have a valid drivers license and a driving record of no more than three moving violations in the past three years

Must be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independently

Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision

Ability to read interpret and follow documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals and assembly instructions

Safety and quality focused

Willingness to wear required PPE at all times and always work safely.

Be available to work any shift and be dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime as allowed per the union contract

Environmental & Working Conditions

Physical effort in lifting and carrying materials and attaching rigging devices.

Manual dexterity in operating control levers and buttons.

Exposed to dirt fumes smokeand heat.

Someclimbinginto and out of vehicles crane cabs etc.

Some outside work possible minor cuts and bruises. Must exercise caution in operation of equipment in confined areas.

Possible exposure to hazardous materials or hazardous waste from leaks or spills of these materials while moving or storing them.
