APIs are the backbone of modern digital ecosystems enabling seamless communication and integration between applications services and platforms. As organizations increasingly rely on APIs to drive innovation operational efficiency and customer experiences securing these interfaces has become paramount.
We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to join us on this journey and play a critical role in shaping the future of API Security in F5.
The Role
As Principal Product Manager youll be a key player in shaping how API Security grows. As part of the Product Management team youll help shape and execute the product vision. Your influence will extend across refining market approaches and finding creative ways to grow revenue. Youll also be instrumental in accelerating the adoption of API Security making sure our product keeps up with the latest industry trends and meets our customers needs.

Key Responsibilities
Refine and articulate a clear product vision and strategy for API Security ensuring alignment with market trends customer needs and organizational objectives.
Develop and maintain detailed product roadmaps collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and drive execution.
Partner with marketing and sales teams to position API Security as a key component of F5s Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP) crafting compelling narratives for our customers.
Influence and inform monetization strategy identify opportunities for scalable business models and align product direction with revenue goals.
Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver solutions ensuring feasibility and technical depth.
Define and track relevant KPIs and success metrics for product outcomes and community engagement iterating strategies based on product data.
Act as a trusted advisor to the Director of Product Management contributing strategic insights and product recommendations.
About You

What You Bring
10 years of product management experience in the software industry with a strong background in both SaaS and deployable software solutions.
Deep knowledge of API technologies (REST GraphQL etc.) and API Security principles such as authentication (OAuth OpenID Connect) authorization data protection and anomaly detection.
Solid understanding of security frameworks and best practices such as OWASP API Top10 and secure design best practices.
Knowledge of related technologies like Web Application Firewalls (WAF) is a plus.
Strong customer orientation with the ability to listen organize and champion key initiatives and projects for product development.
Proven experience driving global products with enterprise-scale organizations.
Experience defining and monetizing products with proficiency in subscription licensing and open-source business models.
Demonstrated success managing growing products.
Exceptional collaboration and leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor and lead diverse teams.
