In NC we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton NC sits on 825000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment and houses the Fermentation Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisks innovative oral products. The Program
At Novo Nordisk interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced industry professionals and gain valuable hands-on full-time work experience. For ten weeks interns will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work. Our internship program also includes instructor led trainings a leadership engagement series as well as insightful lunch and learns.
Program Start: May 18th 2026.
Program End: July 24th 2026.
Scope of Position
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer Intern will support a variety of environmental health and safety initiatives aimed at enhancing site operations and compliance. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis updating procedural documentation assisting with EHS training programs and contributing to process improvement and optimization efforts. The intern will also play a key role in advancing sustainability initiatives and ensuring adherence to environmental and safety regulations across the site.

Qualifications
A completed or in progress bachelors degree in Occupational Safety Engineering Biology Chemistry or a related discipline preferred.
Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills project management skills and attention to detail.
Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities must be able to multi-task.
Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently across functional lines and with internal customers.
Demonstrated personal initiative self-motivation flexibility adaptability and willingness to learn.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word Excel PowerPoint etc.

About Company
