Background Information
The Consumer Access and Client Integrations team is tasked with the digital planning and implementation of provincial strategic clinical projects. These are often complex multi-year endeavors that require senior resource oversight to coordinate stakeholders and project activities. The Senior Program Managers under the direction of the Consumer Access and Client Integrations team take on strategic projects such as the Vendor Management Strategy and the provincial Primary Care Program where they will work on arranging oversight meetings program performance monitoring promotion of strategic partnerships between partners of the Programs.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Program Managers will lead and support various Electronic Health Record (EHR) Modernization initiatives including management of activities issues risks and service change requests to ensure successful and on-time deployment.
Work with internal stakeholders to report project progress
Work with internal stakeholders for budgeting oversight tracking and reporting
Define implement and operate the program governance
Establish/Manage relationships with Ontario Health product owners
Establish/Manage relationships with Canada Health Infoway
Engage with Legal authorities to evaluate program responsibilities
Engage with Privacy authorities to evaluate program responsibilities
Engage with Security authorities to evaluate program responsibilities
Desired Skills:
College/University undergraduate degree in Health Computer Science Engineering Business or related discipline from a recognized institution or equivalent experience
Professional certifications:Project Management Professional;Knowledge and understanding of Project Managements Institutes Project Management Body of Knowledge and/or Lean Six Sigma
Demonstrated project management software skills and experience e.g. MS Project MS Teams etc.
Knowledge of Ontarios healthcare landscape including the Electronic Health Record EMR Systems (TELUS Health WELL EMR and Accuro) Provincial Digital Services Hospital Information Systems (Epic Meditech and Cerner) and other Healthcare Information Systems used throughout the province
Experience with health system business implementation and deployment projects
Proven track record working with multidisciplinary teams
Experience in liaising with customers/stakeholders where customer service was a key focus to responding to queries issues/risk management etc.
Relationship building facilitation and influencing skills to successfully partner with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to readily identify assess and mitigate implementation and adoption issues
Knowledge of change managementbusiness process integration and/or evaluation/quality improvement preferably in the health sector
Experience operating in highly political environments and across various organizational cultures
Working knowledge of privacy policies and legislative processes Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA) Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and associated Health Information Custodian (HIC) requirements would be an asset
Deliverables include but are not limited to:
The Senior Program Managers will be required to work with the appropriate teams to:
Oversee and/or organize program and activities
Create and manage short- and long-term goals
Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement
Client Engagement and Client Management including but not limited to health care organizations and technology providers
Manage Program schedules and milestones and provide program reporting
Manage Project Risk/Issue Management
Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
Must Haves:
- 7 years experience program/project managing digital health projects and the complex relationships including health information systems electronic medical records eReferral solutions and patient portals.
- 7 years experience with and knowledge of Project Management concepts (e.g. project goals risk scope participant roles planning quality management risk management and change management)
- 7 years experience leadership team building and communication skills including experience with presenting to C-suite and Executive Leadership Groups across the health
