Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Facility Service Technician to perform a wide range of maintenance repair and service tasks across our facility grounds and buildings. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working both outdoors and indoors supporting everything from grounds upkeep and exterior systems to general building maintenance equipment repair and safety inspections.
The Facility Service Technician plays a key role in ensuring a clean functional and safe environment for all staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Outdoor Responsibilities
Perform routine grounds maintenance including clearing debris minor landscaping exterior cleaning and upkeep of walkways and common outdoor areas.
Inspect and maintain outdoor building systems such as lighting signage doors gates and exterior fixtures.
Support seasonal tasks such as snow removal salting walkways storm cleanup or heat-related equipment checks (depending on location).
Conduct exterior safety checks for hazards structural concerns and facility compliance.
Indoor / General Facility Responsibilities
Perform basic to intermediate repairs on facility systems including mechanical electrical plumbing and HVAC support tasks.
Conduct routine building inspections to identify issues and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
Address work orders and service tickets in a timely manner.
Assist with preventive maintenance including filter changes equipment lubrication and calibration checks.
Support minor carpentry painting patching and general building upkeep.
Maintain clean and orderly mechanical rooms storage areas and workspaces.
Coordinate with vendors or contractors as needed for specialized repairs or installations.
Assist with moving furniture equipment setups and general facility support tasks.
Required Qualifications
2 years of experience in facilities maintenance building services or a related trade.
Ability to work extensively outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Basic knowledge of mechanical electrical or plumbing systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to operate common maintenance equipment and hand tools safely.
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Valid drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in commercial industrial or campus-style facility environments.
Familiarity with CMMS or digital work order systems.
Certifications such as HVAC helper/tech electrical training or general maintenance certifications.
OSHA 10 or other safety training.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfort working on ladders lifts or in outdoor environments for extended periods.
Ability to walk kneel stand and perform manual labor as needed.
