Job Summary
2026 Summer Camp Camp Medic Camp McCormick - This position may live on or off site.
Locations: Camp Dean McCormick IL
Job Duration: Summer May 26 June 27 2026
Salary: $700 Weekly

Summary:Camp Medic is responsible for overall health and safety of camp staff and campers during our summer campprogram. The expectation is to provide an exciting fun and memorable experience for campers and staff. Also responsible forgeneral sanitation and safety practices throughout camp.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in camper check-in process for health screening.
- Administer medication first aid and address camper health concerns.
- Take inventory resupply and maintain first aid equipment as necessary throughout camp.
- MonitorhealthofincomingcamperscollecthealthreviewsandisresponsibleforallmedicaldocumentationNotify staffmembersofhealthprecautionsofcampers(andstaff)whenindicated.
- Develop sound relationships with staff campers and parents as needed regarding medical care.
- Conduct daily checks of equipment for safety cleanliness and inventory.
- Assist in unit housekeeping sanitation care of supplies and equipment.
- Assist in supervision of campers to cover for other camp staffs breaks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Be 21 years old
- EMTnursingstudentRNLPNWFR/WFAorphysicianwithcurrentFirstAid/CPR/AEDcertifications
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid
- Understandingofcurrentandupcomingmedicalknowledgetreatmentandbreakthroughs
- Abilitytomaneuverthroughcampwithoutassistanceandcarryupto50pounds
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in working with children preferred
AdditionalRequirements:
- Be guided in all actions by the Girl Scout Mission Promise and Law.
- BearegisteredmemberofGirlScoutsoftheUSA(GSUSA)andhavepassedabackgroundcheck.
- MustaccepttheprinciplesandbeliefsofGirlScoutingandcomplywiththemostcurrentpoliciesproceduresandguidelinesofGSNIandGSUSA.
- CompleterequiredtrainingasassignedandprovidedbyGSNIandGSUSA.
Required to attend:
- All check-in and check-out
- All camp activities such as games campfire and special events
- All meals including packouts in units
