Salary Range:$ 69000 - $77000 per academic year. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position isExempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary

The Assistant Teaching Professor will teach undergraduate courses and labs including but not limited to: Introduction to Robotics Logic Circuits I & II Microcomputer/Microprocessor Systems C Programming Signals and Systems Circuits and Systems Physical Electronics etc. Assistant Teaching Professors with appropriate professional experience or a Ph.D. may teach higher level courses. Other activities may include:

  • Curriculum development including the development of new courses.

  • Guiding undergraduate students in independent studies.

  • Developing and teaching distance courses.

  • Advising undergraduate majors.

  • Participating in departmental committees and meetings.

  • Other as assigned by the Chair.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Teaching (80%)

    • This is equivalent to 8 courses (24 semester hours) per academic year.

    • This position will primarily teach first- and second-year undergraduate courses fundamentals of signals digital design and microprocessor/microcomputer design. Other classes may be assigned as needed.

    • Classes may be in-person online or hybrid.

  • Service (20%)

    • Engage in service activities to support the University city state region nation and/or professional associations.

Tentative Search Timeline

  • Priority will be given to applications submitted by:February 8 2026.

  • Potential interview dates:weeks of March 2 (initial) and March 30 (final) 2026.

  • Potential start date: August 17 2026.

  • To be considered for this role you must possess an MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and have at least four months of teaching experience (lecture) as instructor of record or the equivalent in a US academic setting. Knowledge of Verilog (hardware description language) programming is required evidenced in transcript.
  • The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering multi-year teaching experience (lecture & lab) at the college level and experience with delivery of online courses. Multi-year experience in digital system design using Verilog is preferred.
