Job Description
The Surgical Technician provides essential support during surgical procedures ensuring clinical readiness sterile technique and efficient coordination of operative activities. This role requires strong attention to detail experience in surgical environments and the ability to provide consistent four-handed assistance to clinicians.
Key Responsibilities
Escort patients to the surgical operatory and screen them prior to procedures.
Review medical records to confirm required treatments and ensure charts are complete (notes lab results PHM etc.).
Provide continuous four-handed surgical assistance to clinicians throughout procedures.
Clean and disinfect countertops mayo stands equipment and all surfaces prior to setup.
Organize and prepare sterile instruments surgical trays and equipment for each procedure.
Take radiographs as requested before during or after the procedure.
Restock cabinets and drawers; order and maintain medical and surgical supplies.
Provide chair-side assistance by monitoring patient vitals suctioning passing instruments and administering medications as directed.
Remove all instruments and equipment at the conclusion of each procedure and dispose of medical waste properly.
Respond effectively and confidently during medical emergencies within the surgical environment.
