Wayman Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a well-resourced primary school in Wandsworth. The Teaching Assistant will support classroom teachers by delivering interventions supporting pupils with additional needs assisting with curriculum tasks and maintaining positive routines. This Teaching Assistant vacancy starts January 2026 with induction and handover arranged prior to January 2026 so the Teaching Assistant can begin the spring term confidently.

About the role
The Teaching Assistant will deliver guided-reading and phonics groups support numeracy activities help implement behaviour strategies and adapt learning materials for individuals and small groups. The Teaching Assistant will be expected to take accurate records of progress feed back to teachers and contribute to intervention reviews. Working in Wandsworth the Teaching Assistant will join a collaborative team focused on evidence-informed approaches and pupil wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted small-group and one-to-one interventions and track their impact.
- Support whole-class lessons by scaffolding activities and encouraging independence.
- Assist with pastoral duties supervise playgrounds and support smooth transitions.
- Prepare resources help run enrichment activities and support school events in Wandsworth.
- Maintain clear records and contribute to review meetings with teachers and SENCo.
Person specification
- Experience working with children in a school or similar environment and confidence delivering interventions as a Teaching Assistant.
- Strong interpersonal skills patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Organised reliable and committed to contributing to the Wandsworth school community; available to start January 2026.
