Senior Accountant
LOCATION: Dallas TX 75234 (Hybrid 2 days onsite)
DURATION: 6 Months with Possible extension
Pay Rate: $39.29/hr. W2 All Inclusive
WORK HOURS: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM CT
START DATE: ASAP
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Senior Accountant participates in all function-based accounting activities including cash & banking revenue deferrals selling expenses G&A marketing and month-end close activities. The role includes balance sheet reconciliation collaboration with finance accounting and operations teams and supporting internal & external audits.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for various function-based accounting activities (e.g. cash & banking revenue deferrals legal expenses marketing depreciation etc.).
- Completes month-end close duties accurately and timely (journal entries variance analysis).
- Interacts with accounting finance and operations stakeholders across North America and globally.
- Prepares/reviews balance sheet reconciliations; analyzes balances and communicates unreconciled items.
- Works directly with internal/external auditors to support audits and quarterly/annual reviews.
- Proactively identifies and implements process improvements.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- 3 years of comparable accounting experience
- Strong Accounting background
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Highly analytical
- Self-disciplined / self-motivated
- In-depth understanding of internal controls & segregation of duties
- Intermediate MS Excel & Word skills
- Experience working within two different SAP systems
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to act as a self-starter demonstrating initiative in problem-solving
- Ability to analyze problems compile data and reach logical conclusions
- Ability to prioritize & multitask effectively
- Ability to challenge existing processes and seek improvement
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Ability to build professional relationships across teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA and/or Masters Degree in Accounting
- CPA certification
- ERP experience (SAP & Oracle)
