Duties and Responsibilities: The GI Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for assessing diagnosing identifying outcomes planning implementing and evaluating nursing care of patients. Additionally the GI Surgery RN role includes directing and supervising nursing care for patients in the gastroenterology setting.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required.
A current RN License in the State of Illinois is required.
Current CPR certification required
ACLS certification is preferred required for critical care and ER
PALS certification required for ER and Pediatrics
NRP certification required for Special Care Nursery
Ability to quickly recognize changes in condition and needs of patients.
Knowledge of patients growth and development needs.
Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy in carrying out work duties.
