Job Summary:

The Data Governance & Data Domain Architect defines and governs domain-aligned data models data product architectures metadata standards and governance-by-design patterns across business functions to ensure a trusted governed and AI-ready data ecosystem. The role enables business-aligned data product delivery domain interoperability and consistent application of enterprise governance and quality controls.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead metadata lineage domain modeling and data contract practices.
  • Implement governance frameworks and policy-to-architecture mapping.
  • Enable semantic metadata alignment for AI and ontology collaboration.
  • Define domain modeling standards reusable templates and cross-domain integration patterns.
  • Partner with business and technical teams for governed data product delivery and ensure alignment to enterprise standards.
  • Develop governed data product templates design packs and documentation standards.
  • Support intake triage and architecture reviews under the tiered engagement model.
  • Promote cross-functional architecture skill development.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 712 years in data architecture data modeling or domain data design.
  • Proven experience with metadata management lineage and domain modeling.
  • Experience applying governance frameworks metadata standards lineage tools.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into data architecture designs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Good to Have

  • Experience with data product operating models or data mesh concepts.
  • Familiarity with cataloging and governance platforms.
  • Background working with regulated business domains or compliance frameworks.

Foundational Skills

  • Clear communication and facilitation.
  • Requirements translation and business engagement.
  • Decision documentation and architecture reasoning.
  • Influence across business IT and governance groups.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in Information Systems Data Management Computer Science or related field.
  • Data management or architecture certifications (DAMA CDMP TOGAF) preferred.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $149k - $180k depending on job-related knowledge skills experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
