DescriptionOrganizes and conducts therapy services to patients. Facilitates program development. Assists with professional growth of staff therapist techs/aides and students. Reports to Clinical Coordinator.
Responsibilities- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program safety environmental and infection control standards.
- Performs duties of a Occupational/Physical therapist as required including full patient load.
- Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs current literature in-service meetings and professional affiliations.
- Serves as a Clinical Instructor for Occupational/Physical therapy/Therapy Assistant Students under the leadership of the CCCE.
- Conducts internal training programs for medical and nursing staff on Physical/Occupational therapy techniques and objectives.
- Serves as a resource to the nursing community and other disciplines.
- Assist in the development of quality Occupational/Physical therapy programs.
- Coordinates special projects/assignments that contribute to the department goals and professional growth of the department.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Supervises Rehabilitation Technicians and Aides appropriately Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an approved professional program in Physical Therapy.
Experience: Minimum of three years experience as a therapist in an appropriate area of practice.
Special Skills: Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients individual needs based on medical conditions age (infants pediatrics adolescents young adults middle-aged and geriatric) limitations and planned procedures.
License/ Cert.: Registration and current licensure in Mississippi.
