Position:Manager Digital Delivery Finance group

Compensation Details:

Mgr Technology Delivery 19 (Manager): Salaries typically range from $109810 to $146413 annually based on qualifications and experiences plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:

Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment currently requiring employees to work in the office 3 days per week. (subject to change)

This role can be performed from EDCs headquarters in Ottawa.

Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Team and Job Overview:

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:

Define execute and sustain the integrated technology target state target data model and technology operations required to enable EDCs 2030 business transformation.

Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.

Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.

Lead and ensure integrated digital data infrastructure and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer user and employee experiences.

As EDC aims to be the leader in helping all Canadian exporters go grow and succeed internationally the Digital Platform Delivery & Architecture (DPDA) group in EDC plays a critical role in enabling leaders to leverage technologies by providing an easy-to-use secure and fit-for-purpose digital business platform. To better position ourselves for success the Digital Delivery Finance group is seeking a Digital Delivery Manager to implement the strategic technology vision by building an effective platform that supports the needs of EDC now and in the future.

The Digital Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of new solutions while proactively managing risks blockers dependencies and scope. This role also focuses on expanding IT capabilities and optimizing existing systems to better support current and future business needs and growth.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives that drive significant changes and innovation within the organization. These initiatives are intended to create new business opportunities such as entering new markets addressing new customer segments creating new value propositions and enacting new business models. Transformation efforts require a fundamental shift in the way we operate with evolving market demands technological advancements and customer expectations.

What you will be doing:

Develop Talent:

Ensure team members performance management aligns with EDCs standards.

Manage coach and develop a high-performing team while also operating as an independent contributor.

Optimize capacity planning supporting workforce strategy and skills development across the portfolio.

Foster a culture of accountability inclusivity and experimentation

Support and advocate for employee continuous learning and career development.

Delivery Leadership:

Support the Delivery Leads in the end-to-end delivery of digital and business technology initiatives within the Credit Insurance domain aligned with EDCs Digital Roadmap and Business Vision.

Oversee concurrent operational work packages (run and grow) and/or transformation projects using waterfall agile and hybrid methods.

Partner and collaborate with stakeholders to create roadmaps prioritize work manage cross-team dependencies and ensure timely high-quality and cost-effective outcomes.

Champion continuous improvement simplify processes remove bottlenecks and challenge legacy assumptions to increase throughput and quality.

Financial & Vendor Management:

Manage operational and transformational budgets; drive accurate forecasting prudent cost control and value realization.

Alongside the Director and Technology Vendor Manager ensure third-party vendors (Statement of Works - SOW Service Level Agreements - SLAs Change Requests - CRs) meet agreed upon delivery and support obligations.

Agility:

Promote an agile atmosphere within delivery teams by enabling rapid adaptation to evolving regulations audit requirements and reporting deadlines.

Encourage nimble action to maintain accuracy and timeliness in financial data and disclosures.

Drive Results:

Motivate teams to deliver accurate financial reporting budgeting and forecasting outcomes that support organizational goals.

Communicate Vision:

Clearly articulate the Finance teams purpose and its role in achieving enterprise financial integrity and transparency.

Explain how delivery initiatives connect to broader organizational strategy compliance obligations and shareholder value.

Guide teams to align decisions with priorities while integrating diverse perspectives from risk audit and operations.

What we are looking for:

Bachelors Degree in Finance Business Administration Computer Science or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years hands-on experience in technology project delivery with a focus on finance platform implementation.

Minimum of 3 years experience in a Delivery Manager role or similar overseeing technical staff or project teams.

Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse cross-functional teams; including junior and senior staff by fostering an inclusive collaborative and high-performance culture aligned with EDCs values.

Ability to support talent development and performance management across delivery teams.

Ability to collaborate with Product Owners and business leads in a two-in-a-box model to maintain continuous alignment.

Proven track record managing annual operational/transformation budgets.

Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).

What will make you stand out:

Knowledge of Fidelity Information Systems CLS/ACBS SAS Planning Analytics (TM1) Certent Disclosure Management (CDM) Cognos Analytics.

Understanding of finance systems and core finance processes including Order-to-Cash Procure-to-Pay and Record-to-Report.
