Job Summary
Transdev is hiring Transit Bus Operators for our Winkler location!
Position Overview
The Transit Driver plays a key role in delivering safe reliable and customer-focused transportation services within the assigned service area. This position requires a professional and courteous individual who enjoys interacting with the public and is committed to maintaining high service standards. The Transit Driver is responsible for operating a transit bus ensuring passenger safety and comfort and adhering to scheduled routes and timelines.
You Role
- Enjoy interacting with the public
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and demeanour
- Drive one of several different buses in a safe courteous and reliable manner throughout the contracted service area within a daily assigned time schedule
- Maintain the appearance of the interior of the bus
- Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required
- Assist in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids
- Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and all accidents and communicate with dispatch as required
- Perform all other duties assigned
Requirements
Your Profile
Essential Criteria:
- A willingness to work a variety of shifts
- The ability to demonstrate proficiency in the safe and effective operation of a transit vehicle
- Demonstrated ability to communicate/interact with the public (all levels of comprehension) management and other staff members in a courteous/respectful/efficient manner and to answer a variety of enquiries with tact and discretion
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Conditions of Employment:
- A valid Class 4F License (required)
- Drivers Abstract
- Child Abuse Registry Check (Max 60 days issued)
- Adult Abuse Registry Check (Max 60 days issued)
- Criminal Record Check- W/ Vulnerable Sector (Max 60 days issued)
