Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Hourly Rate: $19.00 - $22.00

Duties and Responsibilities

The Safety Officer is responsible for enforcing all rules and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department.
The Safety Officer ensures compliance with all DOL guidelines Job Corps notices and bulletins OSHA regulations health and safety practices.
Ensures that personal protective equipment is worn in the vocation areas to comply with appropriate OSHA standards.
Serves as a positive role model for students by reinforcing safety practices and facilitates required Safety meetings.
Advises the Center Director of any safety and health concerns.
Conducts accident investigation as well as processes student accident and injury reports in full compliance with required regulations.

Qualifications

High School Graduate or equivalent.
Prefer three to six months experience in a safety or work-related capacity.
Certified CPR/First Aid facilitator or willingness to become a CPR/First Aid facilitator within the first 30 days of hire.
Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record preferred.
Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
