Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Hourly Rate: $19.00 - $22.00

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Safety Officer is responsible for enforcing all rules and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department.
  • The Safety Officer ensures compliance with all DOL guidelines Job Corps notices and bulletins OSHA regulations health and safety practices.
  • Ensures that personal protective equipment is worn in the vocation areas to comply with appropriate OSHA standards.
  • Serves as a positive role model for students by reinforcing safety practices and facilitates required Safety meetings.
  • Advises the Center Director of any safety and health concerns.
  • Conducts accident investigation as well as processes student accident and injury reports in full compliance with required regulations.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Prefer three to six months experience in a safety or work-related capacity.
  • Certified CPR/First Aid facilitator or willingness to become a CPR/First Aid facilitator within the first 30 days of hire.
  • Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
