Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Applications Lead to oversee the design deployment and management of enterprise applications within a secure NIST 800-53 enclave in support of the FAA BNATC contract. This role is responsible for ensuring that all applications in support of the contract meet stringent federal security and compliance requirements while enabling business operations and mission-critical functions. The IT Applications Lead will collaborate with cybersecurity infrastructure and compliance teams to deliver secure reliable and efficient application services.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Management
- Lead the deployment configuration and maintenance of enterprise applications within the enclave.
- Ensure applications are aligned with organizational needs and comply with NIST 800-53 control requirements.
- Oversee application lifecycle management including upgrades patches and decommissioning.
Security & Compliance
- Integrate NIST 800-53 security controls into application design and operations.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure configurations vulnerability management and continuous monitoring.
- Support audits assessments and accreditation processes (e.g. FISMA FedRAMP).
Governance & Risk
- Maintain documentation of application security controls configurations and dependencies.
- Conduct risk assessments for new and existing applications ensuring mitigation strategies are implemented.
- Partner with compliance officers to ensure adherence to federal and organizational policies.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead a team of application administrators and analysts providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Work closely with infrastructure security and business stakeholders to align application services with mission objectives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for application-related escalations within the enclave.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with emerging technologies federal security standards and best practices.
- Recommend enhancements to improve application performance security and compliance posture.
- Drive automation and modernization initiatives to streamline application management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or related field (Masters preferred).
- 6 years of experience in IT application management with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls and compliance frameworks (FISMA FedRAMP).
- Experience with enterprise applications (ERP CRM collaboration platforms) in secure environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-based applications and hybrid architectures.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (PowerShell Python Ansible).
- Professional certifications such as CISSP CISM or Microsoft/AWS/Azure certifications are highly desirable.
- US Citizenship.
- Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.

- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Experience working in federal or regulated environments.

Target Salary Range
$112000 - $179000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
