Job Summary
Vision Point Systems is recruiting for a Cloud Backend Engineer to design build and maintain backend services APIs and cloud infrastructure that power corrosion analysis and lab applications ensuring reliability scalability and secure integrations. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Design and implement backend services and APIs for web and desktop application
- Own job orchestration and workflows:
- Long-running analysis jobs
- Queuing scheduling status tracking
- Ensure system reliability performance and security:
- Robust error handling and logging
- Performance optimizing and scalability planning
- Secure handling of files models
- Integrate with external services and tools:
- Analysis microservices (dockerized workflows)
- simulation/solver tools
- Authentication systems
- Collaborate with frontend developers and data/ML teams:
- Define API contracts
- Support new features
- Improve developer experience and internal tools
Requirements
- Programming skills (Python and/or )
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science Software Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Citizenship.
- Must demonstrate high levels of written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to influence and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Must be able to think outside the box and identify solutions in a fast paced R&D environment.
- Must be able to work independently and with a team.
- 1 year of applicable experience. (Experience with Cloud platforms and architecture; microservices connections; full cloud web application development)
Desired
- Experience with AI/ML is desired.
- Experience with corrosion research.
- Experience working with CAD metadata and unstructured data.
- Programming skills (C#/.NET)
