Successful candidate is a member of the Clinical Nutrition and Food Services Management Team working with the Director and Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Department. As a member of our team you will be responsible for providing direct supervision of all staff in Patient Food Services and will provide leadership in the development of a superior customer service culture in Food Services. The successful incumbent will supervise the daily operations of the Food Services Department including meal service to patients sanitation warewashing and security. You will ensure that all work practices are in keeping with Hospital Departmental and legislated standards (e.g. HACCP Public Health Canadian Food Inspection Agency Act Workplace Safety and OH&S Act). You will be responsible for the labor management of staff providing employee technical and non-technical training coaching and development recruitment orientation performance and attendance management discipline quality audits job shadowing and workload assessment. You will work closely with the nursing units clinical areas and other non-clinical areas/departments
Qualifications :
- Successful completion of a Food Service Supervisor diploma required
- Active membership in Canadian Society for Nutrition Management Membership required
- Must be willing to complete Advanced Food Safety Certification
- A minimum of 3 years experience working as a Food Services Supervisor required
- Previous experience working as a Food Services Supervisor in a hospital setting preferred
- Working knowledge of WHMIS and HACCP required
- Proven ability to manage supply/labor budgets to include labor relations and compliance within the local and central collective agreements of unionized staff.
- Monitoring performance and hospital policies within a healthcare environment.
- Action oriented approach to problem solving and trouble shooting
- Experience in large scale food production and service required
- Excellent time management skills and proven initiative
- Must be self-directed with excellent organizational skills
- Proven ability to effectively manage operations and staff
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word Excel and PowerPoint required
- Previous working knowledge of Food Service computer systems preferred
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
Additional Information :
Status: Temporary Full-time (Approx. 6 months)
Hours: Monday to Sunday various rotating 7.5 hour shifts days afternoons and evenings (hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)
Salary: $39.436 to $49.282 per hour
