The Opportunity

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at IWK Health is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to support ongoing research activities within the Endometriosis & Chronic Pelvic Pain (E&CPP) Research Centre. Reporting to the Principal Investigators and the Research Manager of the E&CPP Program the RA will primarily contribute to a one-year project analyzing data extracted from the programs clinical registry and patients medical records. The RA may also support additional research activities as needed based on the Research Centres priorities and project demands. This work aims to deepen our understanding of how endometriosis-related pain is connected to demographic and psychological factors sensory processing and physical symptoms ultimately informing more personalized and evidence-based care.

Major Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will contribute to the accuracy efficiency and integrity of the research process by supporting the following activities:

Extracting cleaning and managing data from the REDCap registry.
Conducting quantitative data analyses using statistical software such as SPSS or RStudio.
Performing data quality assurance checks variable coding and descriptive analyses.
Preparing tables figures and summary results for presentations reports and manuscripts.
Maintaining recruitment and tracking logs and monitoring completion of follow-up surveys.
Supporting additional research activities as required including patient recruitment and communication with study participants.

Hours of Work

15 hours/week (0.4 FTE) for one year.

Your Qualifications

Research (thesis)-based Masters degree in a related discipline.
Experience using REDCap for data entry and extraction.
Experience with statistical analysis software (SPSS SAS R GraphPad etc.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools
Excellent problem-solving skills and effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to work independently.
