Job Summary
Taylor Glen located in Concord NC is seeking a qualified part-time Activities Assistant to join our team. This individual will provide engagement for our Independent Living residents. Come join a team that is dedicated to making sure our residents receive first-rate continuum of care and services tailored to fit their needs
Responsibilities
- Planning implementing and documenting of activities for residents and assisting with planning/set up for theme/special events
- Plans off-campus trips for residents and drives residents on the outings
- Creates posts and/or distributes information and material regarding events programs activities etc.
- Works closely with residents with dementia and cognitive impairment
- Alerts social services staff of concerns pertaining to residents
Qualifications
- Long term care experience working with dementia and Alzheimers is strongly preferred
- Musical abilities are preferred (primarily piano)
- Artistic and decorating skills are preferred
- Must have compassion for the elderly
- Must be creative energetic and professional with good social written and communication skills
- Must be able to follow directions both verbally and written and demonstrate flexibility in potential changes to the daily schedule
- Must be able to complete small set-ups independently
- Must be able to assist residents physically in boarding the bus sitting standing and walking
