Job Summary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Autoclave and process instruments ensuring daily biologics and sterilization logs are completed accurately.
  • Maintain autoclave equipment documenting weekly and monthly maintenance per regulatory standards.
  • Mentor and guide Medical Assistants to ensure competencies are completed and maintained annually.
  • Collaborate with leadership and providers to ensure procedure schedules are optimized time slots are filled appropriately and cases are condensed for efficiency.
  • Coordinate complex procedures ensuring all resources and staff are prepared.
  • Ensure procedure center runs smoothly by proactively managing workflow staffing and patient throughput.
  • Step in to assist with daily tasks and patient care during staff callouts or PTO to maintain coverage.
  • Address patient or provider concerns/complaints professionally escalating to leadership when appropriate.
  • Participate in leadership and quality meetings related to clinical operations.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant and/or LPN program required.
  • Certification or Registration as a Medical Assistant (CMA RMA or equivalent) preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 35 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or LPN preferably in a procedure setting.
  • Prior leadership mentorship or scheduling coordination experience preferred

REQUIREMENTS

  • BLS certified through American Heart Association or AHA affiliated program.
  • Knowledge of autoclave operations sterile processing and infection prevention practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with providers and staff to optimize schedules and maintain patient safety.
  • Flexibility to assist across multiple roles and responsibilities as needed.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Sterile technique and autoclave maintenance.
  • Scheduling workflows for procedural environments.
  • Knowledge of front office workflow.
  • Equipment and implant coordination.
  • Regulatory requirements).

  • Professionalism when interacting with providers co-workers patients family members and the public.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in medical record documentation and scheduling systems.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Clinical procedure center environment with exposure to biohazardous materials surgical instruments and sterilization equipment.
  • Fast-paced and patient-focused setting.
  • Occasional travel between centers may be required.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during clinical operations.
  • Ability to lift push and move instruments supply boxes and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to maintain composure and focus under pressure in urgent or emergent situations.
  • Ability to handle patient interactions with professionalism empathy and discretion
