The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Lab Technician (Metallurgical). This is a 2nd shift position.

The Metallurgical Lab Technician will:

  • Work in a materials laboratory using cut-off saws mounting presses light microscopes and image analysis software
  • Prepare samples for metallographic analysis by sectioning mounting polishing and etching
  • Compare microstructures against standards and approve/reject process control sample

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or Certificate in metallurgical or materials science or at least 2 years of experience working in a materials laboratory performing metallographic analysis
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds from floor to height of 25 inches capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds have a grip strength of at least 50 pounds and be able to reach above shoulder 65 inches above floor level (minimum).
  • Responsible for and accountable for product safety and the quality of work including as a minimum all elements defined in the Companys Quality Policy.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S.
