Job Summary
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION/DUTIES:
Restylingand relining worn furniture involving standing sitting andoperatinga pneumatic staple gun.
Strips worn fabric and padding from furniture; measures and fits to cut patterns for each style; cuts fabric to pattern size and sews pieces together using a hand needle or electric sewing machine. Requires manual operation of tools and equipment.
Securespadding by stapling or gluing fits new lining to furniture and staples lining to woodwork.
Responsible for covering all casino gaming tables including blackjack and craps tables.
Periodicallyuse carpenter tools to cut and fabricate internal parts for rebuilding furnishings as needed.
Must be familiar and adept at using all tools required to perform the scope ofwork.
INCIDENTAL/ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Requiredto walk up to casino area and replace material on all gaming tables.
Walking to various departments ofhotelsfor minor repairs.
Responsible for obtaining quotes sourcing materials and placing orders asrequired.
Maybe requiredto use electric cart to transport furnishings.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Must be 21 and have a valid drivers license.
Prior Maintenance experiencerequired.
Prior Supervisory experience preferred.
Must be able to work the second shift consistently.
Has thorough knowledge and understanding of general repairs and maintenance.
Mustpossessvery goodinterpersonal and communication skills; will beinterfacing witha high percentage of guests as well as other staff members.
Must be flexible to work all shifts may berequiredto work overtime onoccasionwhen the department is short of staff.
The ability to listen learn be helpful in all situations and make the best sound decisions toward the resolution of a potential problem.
Due to the nature of the hotel being open365 daysper year (24/7) and a variety of start times for events etc. all candidates must be flexible toworkvarying schedules to accommodate the business needs of the hotel.
All candidates MUST be available to work both during the week as well as on weekends/holidaysand there is no guarantee of a set work schedule.
